This week we were in Brasília, participating in a public hearing at the Chamber of Deputies, where we were able to present some information and data on agricultural aviation. The work is part of Zanoni Equipamentos' commitment to be a reference in the agricultural aviation sector, contributing to the constant advancement and development of our activity.
Our focus was to demonstrate how aerial application is the most sustainable means of controlling pests in crops, with an emphasis on innovation, technology and science. In addition to being the most effective spraying method (with the smallest carbon footprint), the most professional and the most regulated and monitored by the government, aerial application has specific tools to ensure the rational use of agricultural pesticides. Among these, we can mention meteorological control, chemical mix preparation, the DGPS system, spray nozzles and monitoring software.
Although the industry is taking off around the world and Brazil is a leader in the activity (exporting technologies and knowledge), the disinformation agenda has sought to prohibit the activity in our country, under the allegation of environmental and health risks. What the examples of prohibition indicate, however, is the increase in the consumption of pesticides and the increase in cases of drift, as is currently happening in the state of Ceará and in some countries of the European Union.
We are grateful for the opportunity offered by Congressman Tião Medeiros to listen to our industry, which is so important for maintaining productivity in the field, for guaranteeing global food security and, above all, for national agro-environmentalism.
A big thank you also to SINDAG and IBRAVAG, for their tireless work in defense of Brazilian agricultural aviation. Today, more than ever, both institutions need the unrestricted support of each pilot, each operator and each company and professional involved in the production chain of the agricultural aviation industry.
The future flies on the wings of hope.
