The cotton farminhg has become very important for Brazil, which today is among the five countries that produce the most of the plant and, in a short time, went from being an importer to an exporter. Cotton is a plant that requires great phytosanitary care, due to the biological pressure existing in the Brazilian Cerrado and its high sensitivity to pests. During its entire cycle, dozens of applications are necessary, which are mainly carried out by agricultural aircraft, due to the indispensable agility to be able to control the voracious pests that attack crops.
In this scenario of demand for maximum profitability, the use of low-volume application technologies is crucial to achieve good results. However, to ensure operational safety and efficiency, it is crucial that the equipment and pesticides are of the highest quality and are properly calibrated.
The "Cotton Field Night in Lucas do Rio Verde" evaluated our M3 atomizers in an Air Tractor Aircraft (approx. 250 km/h / 155 mph) with a 75° blade angle at three different application rates: 3 L/ha (0.3GPA), 7L/ ha (0.7 GPA) and 10 L/ha (1 GPA). The day had 27°C, relative humidity of 55% and wind of 5 km/h (3 mph). The dye was diluted in the spraying solution (WETCIT GOLD + AIRTRUCK / 0.1+0.05) and, after application, coverage, spreading and distribution in the canopy of the crop (upper and lower) were evaluated using UV flashlights as necessary for dye luminescence.
The results were as follows:
0.3 GPA (3 L/ha)
0.7 GPA (7 L/ha)
1 GPA (10 L/ha)
The conclusion indicated that the use of the technology provided excellent coverage, spreading and distribution in the upper and lower part of the cotton plant, which is essential to fight pests and diseases that develop throughout the cycle of this crop. The study confirms the positive feedback we have received from many partners around the world who use our atomizers on turbo aircraft to treat grain crops.
