U.S. Agricultural Aviation continues to expand the use of Zanoni Atomizers

The use of Brazilian technology is due to the search for better efficiency in pest control and the search for greater profitability in the use of agricultural aircraft

Since Zanoni began operating in the United States (in 2017), operators there have been seeking more information about the use of atomizers and lower flow rates. Initially with greater reluctance, as it involves a cultural change in the industry, pilots have increasingly become interested in the "Brazilian way of performing aerial applications", due to our greater profitability and better efficiency.

The use of Zanoni atomizers, when compared to conventional hydraulic nozzles, offers several advantages, including:

  • It is possible to obtain better results with less effort: the atomizer offers better coverage with lower application rates. An application at 0.5 GPA (5 L/ha) with an atomizer offers the same coverage as an application at 2 GPA (20 L/ha) with hydraulic nozzles. The same occurs when we compare an application at 1 GPA (10 L/ha) in relation to an application at 3 GPA (30 L/ha).
  • Greater safety for work with low flow rates: despite offering a spectrum of droplets with a lower DMV than hydraulic nozzles, atomizers offer greater droplet uniformity and, consequently, a higher DV01. This means that, even though the average droplets are smaller, atomizers do not produce as many extremely fine droplets that are more susceptible to drift.

Due to these characteristics, each season more and more US operators have sought our equipment to apply insecticides and fungicides mainly to soybean, corn and wheat crops. We already have clients using this technology in several states, in the south and north of the country.
