The Zanoni® M6 atomizer was initially developed for high-speed aircraft (flying above 150mph), such as the Air Tractors 502XP, 602, 802 and the Thrushes 510P2+ and 710. Due to their excessive speed, other atomizers available on the market do not offer a quality droplet spectrum, so this different model is necessary to compensate for the high rotation. More recently, some of Zanoni's partners began to question whether this equipment could also be used on lower-speed aircraft, such as the Air Tractor 402 and 502B, Cessna, Pawnee and Ipanema. After several field tests and, more recently, in the laboratory, we concluded that this equipment can be used on these models of agricultural aircraft.

Its major distinguishing feature is a wider range of options in terms of droplet sizes, better suited to the reality of Brazilian agriculture. Until then, the rotary atomizers used in Brazil were all derived from a British model, developed for special applications in the northern hemisphere, such as mosquitoes and forests, which use extremely fine droplets (not applicable for work carried out in Brazilian fields). The Z 80224 atomizer, used in low and medium-speed aircraft, eliminates these unnecessary configurations for local operators and adds two configurations with medium-sized droplets (which other atomizers do not offer).

In this way, this atomizer is closer to the specific needs of Brazilian agricultural aviation.
